Break Time Subtracted from Scheduled Hours
A shift's break time is unpaid and subtracted from the employee's scheduled hours total.
Break Validation
A break must fall entirely within its shift's start and end time, and can't overlap another break on the same shift.
Copying Breaks from Last Week
Copying last week's schedule as a starting point brings its breaks along too.
Edit a Break

Remove a Break

Suggested Breaks
The schedule solver suggests a 30-minute break for any shift of 5 or more hours. See [Suggest a Schedule Automatically](/docs/test2doc-plan-schedule/test2doc-suggest-a-schedule-automatically) for how those suggestions are generated.
Viewing Breaks on the Calendar
A shift with a break shows the break's time on the calendar.
Viewing Breaks on the Shift Detail Page
A shift's detail page lists its breaks.
Viewing Breaks Without Edit-Breaks Permission
A user who can edit a shift but not its breaks still sees the shift's existing breaks, read-only.
